The normal service life of the wharf is 20 years. In order to improve the usability, wind and wind resistance of the wharf and ensure the safe use of the wharf. Wharf owners or business personnel should check regularly. Periodic inspection refers to the periodic inspection of the use of wharf facilities, the appearance changes of structural members and the condition of ancillary facilities by the wharf owner or business personnel.
The contents of regular inspection of wharf facilities include:
1. Visual inspection of the appearance damage of stressed structural parts (steel structure/aluminum structure); Main surface anticorrosion, joint stress and screw tightness, and immediately repair and solve any problems found. Professional personnel should be consulted for maintenance at least twice a year, and the best time is May and December.
2. Whether there is obvious settlement and displacement at the dock connection, high-quality surveyors and sophisticated measuring instruments should be provided regularly for measurement.
3. Regularly check shore fire fighting equipment, warning lights, water and electricity boxes, ladders, etc. for defects.


4. Auxiliary facilities (pontoon, bollard, fender, panel, anchor block, screw fittings).
(1) floating box, check once a month, found damaged or sinking water, and so on and so forth, replace immediately;
(2) Check whether the dock panel is damaged, and replace the panel immediately if it is found;
(3) The fender shall be neat and complete, and no bolts or sharp iron pieces shall be exposed on the water front of the wharf;
(4) The bollards shall be used according to the specified load, and any looseness found shall be dealt with immediately;
(5) Check the underwater anchor block once a month. If the anchor is loose, tighten the anchor rope immediately and adjust the direction of the wharf. If the anchor block deviates too much, immediately lift the anchor block and re-anchor according to the actual position;
(6) The screws must be complete, with no looseness at the bottom, no cracks in the column, and the rust pit or wear depth shall not be greater than 10% of the thickness of the column arm;
(7) The parts with problems should be repaired immediately and safety measures should be taken to prevent users from having safety accidents.


In the face of severe weather, including strong winds and big waves beyond the wharf, and freezing period, it is best to organize personnel to dismantle the wharf and drag (lift) ashore in advance. The main procedures are as follows:
(1) first dismantle the anchor chain (rope) of the branch road and unlock the anchor block. Remove handrails and connectors.
(2) When dismantling the branch road, first dismantle the boards at the junction of the main road and the branch road, and then dismantle the connecting bolts of the steel structure. When dismantling each branch road, drag (lift) one ashore, and make a mark (number).
(3) Dismantle the main road after dismantling the branch road, and finally lift the pedestrian ladder.
(4) All fittings shall be kept well for the next use. The wharf should be laid flat and covered with tarpaulin, and the location should be 10 meters away from the waterfront.
Special reminder: when the wave height exceeds 1.0 meters, it must not be used for business, and personnel should be promptly dismantled and transported to a safe place. There must be a special person to guard the wharf 24 hours a day. In case of major problems, contact professionals to solve them as soon as possible.
